VIRGINIA FRANCIS CLEVINGER, 71 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Martha Hettie Stacy Keene. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a 1960 Graduate of Grundy High School. She was also a member of the Oakwood Church of Christ and charter member of the Levisa River Red Hat Society. Virginia was former owner of the Toy Shop at Vansant, VA, and former employee of Bar-Thorn Drug Store at the Anchorage Shopping Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son: James Randall Clevinger; her grandson: Scott McKenzie; and by 4-Brothers: Kermit, Coy, Ernest and Carlis Keene.

 

She is survived by her husband of 53-years, Arvil Clevinger, Vansant, VA, 1-Daughter: Marcie (Jonathan) Akers, Vansant, VA, 1-Son: Gregory (Tommie) Clevinger, Sophia, NC, 3-Grandchildren: Gregory (Natalie) Clevinger, Vansant, VA, Darren (Nicole) Frey, Staunton, VA, Amy Smith, Charlotte, NC, 5-Sisters: Marie Huckabee, Brainerd, MN, Ellen Looney, Vansant, VA, Fay (Phillip) Rife, Hurley, VA, Charlotte (Fred) Walters, Glen Allen, VA, Phyllis (Steve) McClanahan, Richlands, VA

 

Also, survived by 2-Great-Grandchildren: Brayden Smith and Deagon Frey.

 

Funeral Services for VIRGINIA FRANCIS CLEVINGER will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evgs. Larry Arnold, Mike Rife and Bob Yates officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
