THELMA ADKINS, 77 years of age of Cleveland, VA, formerly of Puncheon Camp, near Hurley, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Godfrey and Liza Jane Prater. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was of the Christian Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and Employee of Russell Loungewear in Russell Co., VA for 5-years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Adkins; 1-Daughter: Linda Hager; 2-Sons: Glen Adkins and Ralph Adkins; and 1-Granddaughter: Jolene Adkins.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Dianne (Ronald) Artrip, Cleveland, VA, 2-Sisters: Pat Miller, Ohio, Maxine Prater, Welch, WV, 2-Brothers: William (Dolly) Prater, Ohio, Franklin (Phyllis) Prater, North Carolina

Also, survived by 5-Grandchildren: William Daniel Carter, Robbie Adkins, Meagan Adkins, Andrea Adkins and William Francis Ling; 1-Special Great-Granddaughter: Samantha Leaann Thomas.

Funeral Services for THELMA ADKINS will be conducted Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Conn officiating with burial to follow in the Adkins Cemetery on Puncheon Camp Road, Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
