SOL LOONEY, 57 years of age of Maxie, VA, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Buster and Essie Stiltner Looney. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a Disabled Coal Miner. Sol loved to fish and hunt and working on vehicles.

 

Mr. Looney is survived by his wife, Wilda Hicks Smith Looney, Maxie, VA, 1-Daughter: Bobbi M. Smith, Maxie, VA,

His former wife and mother of his sons, Brenda Looney, Grundy, VA, 2-Sons: Shaun Looney, Maxie, VA, Anthony White and wife Kim, Radford, VA, 1-Granddaughter: Kristen ToraRae Smith, Maxie, VA, 1-Sister: Helen and husband Jr. Wolford, Maxie, VA, 1-Brother: Bob and wife Fern Looney, Maxie, VA

 

Funeral Services for SOL LOONEY will be conducted Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Roger Coleman and Jimmy Stacy officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services by Rev. Eddie Wilson and Rev. Don Ashby at 7:00 P.M. and Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with services by Elders Roger Coleman and Jimmy Stacy at 7:00 P.M.

 

Active Pallbearers will be Justin Stiltner, Dee Jay Stiltner, Mike Belcher, Larry Dickey, Adrian Clevinger, Paul Baker, Phillip Allen “Flip” Boyd, Bobby Looney, Jr. and David Skeens.
