SHIRLEY ANN HACKNEY, 74 years of age of Springfield, VA, formerly of Grundy, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at her home, following an extended illness. Born in Grundy, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Flora Yates Lark Hackney. She was a resident of Springfield, VA since 1976 and was of the Baptist faith. Shirley was a retired employee of the US Government.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death five brothers: Virgil Lark, Lawrence Lark  Jack Lark, George Hackney and Benjamin Hackney; and  by seven sisters: Dorothy Coleman Horn, Josie Hackney Hall, Gladys Hackney Martin, Verta Hackney McGee, Lona Hackney, Helen Hackney Overfelt and Mary Hackney Kervitsky.

She is survived by 1-Sister: Ruth Lark Briggs, Littleton, Colorado

Funeral Services for SHIRLEY ANN HACKNEY will be conducted Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Tittle officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock,Virginia.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
