RUBY B. MATNEY, 87 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Buchanan General Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Wise County, Virginia, she was the daughter the late Alfred and Rebecca Ball Blevins. She was of Pentecostal Faith and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.

She is survived by 2-Daughters: Della (Jim) Shortridge, Vansant, VA, Arlene (Harvey) Matney, Grundy, VA, 3-Sons: Tony (Wanda) Matney, Grundy, VA, Teddy (Barbara) Matney, Grundy, VA, Ricky (Sherry) Matney, Big Rock, VA, 2-Sisters: Mary Ruth Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Frances Helen (Henry) Shortridge,  Grundy, VA

Also, she is survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Matney was preceded in death by her husband: John D. Matney, by one son: Gary Matney and by two sisters: Edna White and an infant sister.

Funeral Services for RUBY B. MATNEY will be conducted Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist William L. Neeley officiating with burial to follow Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.G. Patel, 3^rd Floor ICU nurses at Buchanan General Hospital , and the staff at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, VA.
