REID SCOTT, 31 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, KY, following a brief illness. Born in Bristol, TN, he was the son of Tom and Linda Goodwin Scott, Grundy, VA. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Grundy Baptist Church. Reid was a 1999 Graduate of Grundy Senior High School and a 2003 Graduate of Emory & Henry University. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandson and brother and was a Commercial Insurance Agent for Wells Fargo. He was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Member of the Boys & Girls Club and was a Committee Member of the A.S.L. Golf Tournament. Reid was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and of the Grundy Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Robin Charles Scott, Vansant, VA, 1-Son: Peyton Cole Scott of the Home, Maternal Grandmother: Opal Goodwin, Grundy, VA, 2-Sisters: Erin and husband Eric Goldstein, Charlotte, NC, Morgan and husband Michael May, Jonesboro, TN

Also, survived by 1-Niece: Berkley May; 1-Nephew: Parker May; Father and Mother-in-Law: Allen and Tammy Charles, Prater, VA; Brother-in-Law: Forrest Charles, Prater, VA; Grandmother-in-Law: Betty Charles, Prater, VA; Special Friend: Audra Owens, Vansant, VA.

He was preceded in death by Maternal Grandfather: William A. Goodwin; Paternal Grandparents: Ralph and Fonda Scott; Sister-in-Law: Susan Nicole Charles; and Grandfather-in-Law: Delbert Charles.

Funeral Services for REID SCOTT will be conducted Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Tittle and Eddie & Kathy Hannah officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday afternoon at 4:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Eric Goldstein, Michael May, Allen Charles, Corey Swiney, Bubba Clevinger, Matt Hankins, Forrest Charles, Brian Clayborn, Ben Childress and Kemp Patton.
