RALPH WILLIE “BOBBY” “GRADER” RIFE, 67 years of age of the Lester’s Fork Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Hurley, VA, he was the son of the late Hibbert and Abbie Charles Rife. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Baptist Faith. Ralph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. He was a retired Coal Miner from Island Creek B.P. #1 Mine and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He loved riding 4-wheelers, fishing and hunting.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Marie Ashby and Birchie Looney; 3-Brothers: Curby Rife, Preston Rife and Franklin D. Rife.

 

He is survived by 1-Sister: Lillian McMillan, Satsuma, FL, 4-Brothers: Kermit (Shirley) Rife, Spring Hill, FL, Hassel (Hope) Rife, Satsuma, FL, Hufford (Shirley) Rife, North Carolina, Jimmy Rife, Dryden, VA

 

Also, survived by several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

 

Funeral Services for RALPH WILLIE RIFE will be conducted Monday, September 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.C. Honaker & Rev. Jimmy Kerr officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

 

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by members of Childs-Gentry Post No. 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

Active Pallbearers will be Nephews and Friends.
