PEARLEY McCOY DUTY, 86 years of age of Hurley, VA, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Salisbury and America Samson McCoy. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was of the Church of Christ faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur David Duty; 1-Son: Edmond Lewis Duty; 4-Grandchildren; 2-Sisters: Edna McCoy and Dorothy McCoy; and 3-Brothers: Oakley McCoy, Perry McCoy and Caudill McCoy.

She is survived by 6-Daughters: Ella Compton, Talbot, TN, Virginia (Denver) Thompson, Feds Creek, KY, Maggie Charles, Gray Court, SC, Kathy Ferguson, Lebanon, VA, Patricia Breeding, Vansant, VA, Bonnie (Mitch) Turner, Clinton, SC, 4-Sons: Johnnie (Jeanie) Duty, Hurley, VA, Farley (Debbie) Duty, Hurley, VA, David (Gail) Duty, Jr., Hickory, NC, Russell Duty, Vansant, VA, 1-Brother: Levi McCoy, El Paso, TX

Also, survived by 37-Grandchildren, 62-Great-Grandchildren and 3-Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for PEARLEY McCOY DUTY will be conducted Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Prater officiating with burial to follow in the Duty Cemetery, Hurley, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
