PEARL W. STILTNER McCLANAHAN,
of the Poplar Creek Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, November 11,
2012, at the Bristol Regional Select Medical Center, Bristol, TN, following
an extended illness. Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late
Fred A. and Hattie Wilson Stiltner. She was a resident of Buchanan County
most of her life and was a member of Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church
#1. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
and was a wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. McClanahan is survived by her husband of
66-years, Dewey H. McClanahan, Poplar Creek, VA, 2-Daughters: Connie and
husband Harold Lester, Poplar Creek, VA, Betty Lester, Poplar Creek, VA,
2-Sons: Johnny and wife Charlene McClanahan, Poplar Creek, VA, Steve
McClanahan, Poplar Creek, VA, 2-Sisters: Alice and husband Robert Copeland,
Brandywine, MD, Brenda and husband John Myers, Indianapolis, IN, 1-Brother:
Denver and wife Ann Stiltner, Poplar Creek, VA
Also, survived by 12-Grandchildren: Cathy Boyd, Brad
Lester, Danny Roger Stiltner Jr., Shawn Lester, Angela Coleman, Anthony
McClanahan, Timothy McClanahan, Renee McClanahan, Dewey McClanahan, Misty
Dawn McClanahan, Stephanie Christian, Nicole Nichols;
10-Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by 1-Daughter: Judy Ann Stiltner; 1-Son: Daryl McClanahan; 2-Sisters: Her
Twin – Juanita Joan Scammell and Ruby Keen; 4-Brothers: Wayne Lowe, William
“Billy” Stiltner, Roy Stiltner and Tex Stiltner.
Funeral Services for
PEARL W. STILTNER McCLANAHAN
will be conducted Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy
Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: James Blankenship, Frank Newsome, James
McClanahan, David O’Quinn and William McClanahan officiating with burial to
follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel
Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brothers of Bethlehem
Old Regular Baptist Church #1.
