PAUL STREET, 81 years of age of the Dry Fork Section of Vansant, VA, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Harrison and Martha Vandyke Street. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Miner. Paul enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.  

Mr. Street was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Mae Yates Street and his brother, Roy Street.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Paula and husband Wayne Compton, Compton Mountain, VA, 4-Sons: Keith and wife Lisa Street, Bristol, TN, Harrison and wife Rebecca Street, Cedar Bluff, VA, Jeffery Wayne Street, Vansant, VA, Teddy and wife Julie Street, Vansant, VA, 1-Sister: Ida Mae “Sis” Street Childress, Abbs Valley, VA, 2-Brothers: Claude “Sug” and wife Lee Street, Cedar Bluff, VA, Ralph “Babe” and wife Faye Street, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by Special Sister-in-Law: Faye Street; 7-Grandchildren and 4-Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for PAUL STREET will be conducted Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Rev. Brian Moore officiating with burial to follow in the Baldwin Mountain Cemetery on Baldwin Mountain, near Vansant, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Connor “Corner” Compton, Smokey Street, Roger Street, Albert Cook, Ben Compton, Dale Childress, Bear Compton, Andy Paul Street, Justin Street and Michael Lester. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Granddaughters, Jason Cox, Dr. Bailey and Staff, and the Nurses of Special Care Hospice.
