MERVEL FAYE STILTNER RIDDLE DEEL, 86 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Wellmont-Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Pearlie, VA, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Malissia Coleman Stiltner. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little Freedom Old Regular Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker and was very family oriented. Faye loved sewing, gardening, reading, genealogy and family history. Mrs. Deel was a former member of the Buchanan County Historical Society and washed clothes at Mountain Mission School for over 30-years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Grayson Riddle; her second husband, Fred Deel; 1-Son: Ervin Riddle; and 3-Brothers: Algie Stiltner, Andrew Stiltner and John “Verlin” Stiltner.

She is survived by 2-Daughters: Linda Sue Matney, Rural Retreat, VA, Elizabeth Anne Riddle, Grundy, VA, 2-Sons: Steven Randall and wife Hazel Riddle, Grundy, VA, Thomas Keith and wife Jenny Riddle, Big Rock, VA, 2-Sisters: Nancie Stiltner, Bradenton, FL, Mae Barr, Abingdon, VA, 2-Brothers: Pleas and wife Birdie Stiltner, Grundy, VA, Sam and wife Shirley Stiltner, Roanoke, VA, 2-Grandchildren: Christopher and wife Kasey Riddle, Grundy, VA, Misty Mays, Pembroke Pines, FL

Also, survived by 2-Great-Grandchildren: Cayden Riddle and Kolton Riddle; and Speical Friend: Natasha Mayhorn, Harman, VA.

Funeral Services for MERVEL FAYE STILTNER RIDDLE DEEL will be conducted Sunday, November 18, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: Charlie Church, Jerry Matney and Larry Hargett officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with a song service at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
