LARRY
EDWARD LOONEY,
75 years of age of the Lester’s Fork section of Roseann, VA., passed away
Sunday, October 7, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.
Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of
the late Ernest and Kathryn Cline Looney. He was a loving husband, father,
grandfather and great grandfather.
He was an elder at the Roseann Presbyterian
Church, a coal laboratory technician for Pittston Coal Company, served in
the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the John Ratliff American Legion
Post #164.
Mr.
Looney is survived by his wife Marilyn Stacy Looney of Roseann, Virginia.
He
is also survived by 1-Son: Clark and wife Margaret Justus, Jr., Chesapeake
City, MD, 3-Grandchildren: Michelle and husband Bill Simmons, Middletown,
Delaware, Jennifer Marie and husband Carl Elkins, Chesapeake City, MD, Clark
and wife Kelly Justus, III, Northeast, MD, 4-Great Grandchildren: Kaylin
Marie Elkins, Chesapeake City, MD, Carl Allen Elkins, Chesapeake City, MD,
Owen Carter Justus, Northeast, MD, Trevor Nolan Justus, Northeast, MD,
2-Foster Great Grandchildren: Michelle Simmons, Middletown, Delaware, Melody
Simmons, Middletown, Delaware, 2-Sisters: Martha and husband Jerry
Scarberry, Roseann, VA, Teresa and husband Lawrence Smith, Ewing, VA,
2-Brothers: James and wife Mary Jane Looney, Valdosta, GA, Ted and wife
Rhonda Looney, Clayton, GA
Mr.
Looney was preceded in death by 2- sisters: Ellen Justus and Patricia
Justus.
Funeral Services for
LARRY EDWARD LOONEY will be
conducted Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grundy Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Stacy officiating with burial to follow in the
Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Full military graveside rites will be conducted by
the John Ratliff American Legion Post #164.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening after 6
P.M. with services at 7 P.M.
Active pallbearers will be: Jimmy Baker, Harold
Thompson, Tim Lee, Rodney Lee, Eli Blankenship, Stanley Blankenship, Greg
Blankenship, Jay Rife, Harold Shores, and Carl Elkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be:
Men of the Roseann Presbyterian Church,
Allen Elkins, and Jack Brown.
