JIMMY ROGER YATES, 69 years of age of the Lovers Gap Section of Vansant, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Pinkie Deel Yates. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little Prater Church of Christ. He was a loving husband and friend to all and was a retired Coal Miner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1-Son: Jimmy Robert Yates and 1-Brother: Bobby Gene Yates.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Carol Yates, Vansant, VA, 2-Sons: Trevor Chase Elswick, Abingdon, VA, Logan Curtis Elswick, Abingdon, VA, 4-Sisters: Shirley (Albert) Horn, Vansant, VA, Lois Nelson, Vansant, VA, Lula (Doy) Stanley, Mavisdale, VA, Patsy Grey, Richlands, VA

Funeral Services for JIMMY ROGER YATES will be conducted Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Little Prater Church of Christ with Evgs. Jon Searle, Mike Rife and Gerald Vanover officiating with burial to follow in Yates Cemetery on Deskins, Vansant, VA.

Friends may call at the Little Prater Church of Christ Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Chad Yates, Charlie Yates, Curtis Elswick, Scottie Sexton, Anthony Trent, Rickie Horn, Doug Yates and Edward Yates.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.P. Sutherland, Jr., James Lester, Jackie Deel, Robert Skeens, Carl Anderson, Joe Stevens, Tim Stacy, Jim Osbrone and Jim Justus.
