JEAN HALL RIFE, 83 years of age of the Upper Elk Creek section of Hurley, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Lent and Beulah Cooper Hall. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Upper Elk Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Rife, October 10, 1990; 1-Daughter: Janet Rife Dotson; 1-Son: Hershel Rife; 2-Sisters: Eileen Dotson and Glenna Smith; and 2-Brothers: Roy Hall and Kenneth Hall.

 

She is survived by 4-Daughters: Christine Hurley, Stopover, KY, Judy and husband B.J. Wolford, Freeburn, KY, Lorena and husband Tracy Cline, Hurley, VA, Joyce Dotson, Hurley, VA, 3-Sons: Hassell and wife Lorraine Rife, Stopover, KY, Ralph and wife Wilma Rife, Stopover, KY, Terry Rife, Hurley, VA, 8-Sisters: Eveline Dotson, Hurley, VA, Sybill Jean Mullins, Hurley, VA, Betty Jo Justus, Hurley, VA, Pearl Hurley, Hurley, VA, Jearlene Mullins, Slate Creek, VA, Linda Cline, Hurley, VA, Shirley Rife, Hurley, VA, Opal Rife, Stopover, KY, 2-Brothers: Earl Hall, Hurley, VA, Luther Hall, Hurley, VA

 

Also, survived by 14-Grandchildren and 17-Great-Grandchildren.

 

Funeral Services for JEAN HALL RIFE will be conducted Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Upper Elk Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Elders: Delbert Hurley, Mike Casey and Willie Coleman officiating with burial to follow in the Rife Cemetery on Upper Elk Creek, Hurley, VA.

 

Friends may call at the Upper Elk Creek Freewill Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with services Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

 

Active Pallbearers will be Sons-in-Law, Grandsons and Great-Grandson.
