JAMES
“JIM” EDWARD DELLINGER,
72 years of age of Marion, VA, formerly of Vansant, VA, passed away Monday,
September 9, 2013 at the Francis Marion Manor Hospice, Marion, VA, following
a brief illness. Born in Russell County, VA, he was the son of Ruby Mae
Riddle Dellinger, Vansant, VA, and the late Omer Hazlitt Dellinger. He was a
resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was a member of the Marion
Baptist Church, Marion, VA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
was a retired School Teacher at Grundy Senior High School. Jim was a Car
Salesman at Modern Sales and Services, a retired Tax Preparer and a member
of the Sandy Valley Lodge #17 AF&AM.
He is survived by
his wife, Marie Sekerak Dellinger, Marion, VA, his mother, Ruby Mae Riddle
Dellinger, Vansant, VA, 1-Daughter: Laura (Brandon) Hutton, Chilhowie, VA,
1-Son: Brandon Dellinger, Marion, VA,
1-Step-Son: Kris (Teresa) Ratliff, Marion, VA,
1-Brother: Robert (Marilyn) Dellinger, Poquoson, VA, 1-Uncle: Roy (Helen)
Riddle, Castlewood, VA, 1-Special Cousin: Winfield “Hoot” Dellinger,
Vansant, VA, 1-Niece:
Theresa
(Steve Swenson) Dellinger, Christiansburg, VA
Also, survived by
7-Grandchildren: Cameron Hutton, Carson Hutton, Caden Hutton, Braylen
Dellinger, Kristopher Ratliff, Addison Ratliff and Bailey Ratliff.
Funeral Services for
JAMES “JIM” EDWARD DELLINGER
will be conducted Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy
Funeral Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife officiating with burial to follow at
the Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA.
Friends may call
at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with a song
service at 7:00 P.M. and Masonic Rites by Sandy Valley Lodge #17 AF&AM.
Active
Pallbearers will be Ed Bunn, Jim Bunn, Ed Blizzard, Hoot Dellinger, Tommy
Skeens and Brandon Hutton.
