INEZ LYNN BOWMAN ENDICOTT, 89 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Stuart and Ora Childress Yates. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and attended the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Inez was a homemaker who also once worked at the Grundy Drive-In, the Dixie Drive-In, Grundy Laundry and cleaning houses. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Inez showed that she was as “tough as nails”, brave and courageous in her final days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Bowman; her second husband: Melvin Endicott; two sons: Bert McKinley Bowman and Darrell Eugene Bowman; two daughters: Donna Bowman and Debbie Bowman; one sister: Burgie Lee Maturi; and by three brothers: Elster Yates, Gene Yates and Richard Yates.

 She is survived by 6-Daughers: Connie (Kenny) Ramey, Big Rock, VA, Patty (Clifford) Keene, Grundy, VA, Janie Lester (her companion Eric Stiltner), Grundy, VA, Brenda (Barry) Viars, Patterson, VA, Julie (Keith) Justus, Grundy, VA, Sue (Gene) Owens, Defiance, OH, 2-Sons: Rick (Tammy) Bowman, Grundy, VA, Dennis Bowman, Pikeville, KY

Also, survived 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for INEZ LYNN BOWMAN ENDICOTT will be conducted Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Mike Rife and Rev. Dean Powers officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday with a song service at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be: Janie Lester, Connie Ramey, Michelle Hackney, Ashley Kinder, Zachary Lester, Joshua Thacker, Elizabeth Ramey and Kaitlin Hackney

Honorary pallbearers will be: Eugene Whited and her grandchildren.
