FREDDIE LEE MCCLANAHAN, 70 years of age of Harold, KY, formerly of the Poplar Creek section of Grundy, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Troy and Nomie Elswick McClanahan.  He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith and was an elder for many years.  He was a coal truck driver, owner/operator of the McClanahan Trucking Co., McClanahan Body Shop, and McClanahan Auto Sales with locations in Grundy and Bristol.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Mr. McClanahan was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bernice McClanahan in 1987.

He is survived by 2-Daughters: Mrs. Dennie (Jennifer) Williamson, Harold, KY, Mrs. Chester (Betty) Deel, Jr., Bristol, VA, 3-Sons: Eddie McClanahan, Bristol, VA, Randall (Kimberly) McClanahan, Morristown, TN, DeWayne McClanahan, Bristol, VA, 4-Sisters: Ella Mae Clevinger, Poplar Creek, VA, Peggy (Doug) Daughtry, Ft. Pierce, FL, Ruth McClanahan, Ft. Pierce, FL, Bertha (Nicky) Leo, Port St. Lucie, FL, 2-Brothers: Paul (Ellen) McClanahan, Poplar Creek, VA, Junior (Phyllis) McClanahan, Belfast, VA

Also, survived by 7- Grandchildren: Eric McClanahan, Ricky Howell, Keith Deel, Ryan Williamson, Kimberly Brown, Ashley Deel and Zachery Deel and 19- great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by 1- Daughter: Kimberly Lynn McClanahan and 2- Brothers: Clifford and Donald McClanahan.

Funeral Services for FREDDIE LEE MCCLANAHAN will be conducted Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Paul McClanahan and William McClanahan officiating with burial to follow in the Stiltner Cemetery at Poplar Creek, Virginia. 

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
