FREDDIA JUSTUS HURLEY, 93 years of age of the Lester’s Fork Section of Hurley, VA, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Ance “Short” and Sally Smith Justus. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and a member of the Church of God on Lester’s Fork. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful Homemaker. Freddia was a Factory Worker in Chicago, IL, for many years and loved Gardening and Canning.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Hurley.

She is survived by 1-Daughter: Elizabeth and husband Larry Rife, Ronceverte, WV, 3-Sons: Sam and wife Regina Hurley, Lester’s Fork, Hurley, VA, Harold and wife Patricia Hurley, Burgin, KY, Frank and wife Peggy Hurley, Slate Creek, Grundy, VA, 1-Daughter-in-Law: Pearl Hurley, Lester’s Fork, Hurley, VA

Also, survived by special children in her life, Hayley Baker, Mikayla Gillian and Tyler Gillian; 9-Grandchildren: Melissa Fraley, Steven Hurley, James Hurley, Tina and husband Maxwell Gayle, Darlene McClanahan, Keith and wife Dawn Lively, Jimmy and wife Mary Hurley, Shannon and husband Wesley Bashlor and Leslie and husband Jason Weiss; 7-Great-Grandchildren: Gary Fraley, Craig Fraley, Ethan Gayle, Chris McClanahan, Kirkland Lively, Tish and husband Todd Boone and Brandon Hurley; 8-Great-Great-Grandchildren: Lilly Fraley, Noah Fraley, Kaleigh McClanahan, Layla Hurley, Austin Heaster, Mikayla Heaster, Madison Auville, and Bailey Boone; 10-Step-Great-Grandchildren and 3-Step-Great-Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1-Son: Douglas Hurley; 3-Grandchildren: Darrell Hurley, Debbie Lively Auville and Terri Lynn Hurley; 5-Sisters: Virginia Carpenter, Victoria Jesse, Ada Justus, Lucille McMillion and Dorothy Baker; and 2-Brothers: Clarence Justus and Robert Justus.

Funeral Services for FREDDIA JUSTUS HURLEY will be conducted Monday, September 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Rife officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
