EVERETT DELANEY,
78 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 with his
family by his side at the Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN. Born
May 8, 1934, in the Belcher’s Fork section of Buchanan County, he was the
son of the late Frank and Ethel Dales Delaney. Everett served his country in
the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the John
Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion and Grundy Lodge #17 I.O.O.F. He
was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and was a retired Coal
Miner and Mine Operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister,
Catherine Delaney and brothers, James, Eldon and Avery Delaney.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56-years, Wanda Sue “Susie” Clevinger
Delaney, Grundy, VA, 1-Daughter: Lisa Delaney (Ricky Ray) Rife, Haysi, VA,
1-Son: David Delaney, Grundy, VA, 1-Sister: Lucille Rash Sebold, Peach
Bottom, PA, 1-Brother: Evans (Glema Hess) Delaney, Grundy, VA
Also, survived by 2-Grandchildren: Kasey Sue Rife, loving referred to as
“Papoose” and Kloe DelRae Rife, loving referred to as “Tooter.”
Private Graveside Services for
EVERETT DELANEY
will be held at Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Full Military Rites will be conducted by members of Childs Gentry Post No.
7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of
