ELDER HENRY LAWRENCE JACKSON, 84 years of age of Deskins, VA, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. Born in Boyd Ridge, VA, he was the son of the late Jacob Jesse and Martha Jane Street Jackson. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life and was a Primitive Baptist Elder and member of Breeding Primitive Baptist on Hurricane Creek. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was Retired & Disabled from Beatrice Mine, Island Creek Coal Company. Lawrence served in the United States Army and was a custodian for several years at Grundy Senior High School. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7-Sisters: Mary Ratliff, Ethel Boyd, Biddie Breeding, Elsie Ball, Hazel Barton, Trula Robinson and Jennie Stillwell; and 4-Brothers: Alex Jackson, Clarence Jackson, Robert Jackson and Anthony Jackson.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Deborah Jackson Crumpton and Son-in-Law: Harris Crumpton, Oakwood, VA, 2-Sons: Randy Jackson and Daughter-in-Law: Pat Jackson, Deskins, VA, Craig Jackson and Daughter-in-Law: Tracy Jackson, Lester Prairie, MN, 6-Grandchildren: Austin Harris and wife Jennifer Blevins Crumpton, Grundy, VA, Lauren Debbie and husband Jason Clevinger, Bristol, TN, Jonathan Henry Jackson, Deskins, VA, Christopher Michael Jackson, Deskins, VA, Andrew Henry Jackson, Lester Prairie, MN, Zachary Craig Jackson, Lester Prairie, MN, 4-Great-Grandchildren: Jackson Alexander Crumpton, Grundy, VA, Sophia Brynn Crumpton, Grundy, VA, Jakob Wayne Clevinger, Bristol, TN, Lukas Dalton Clevinger, Bristol, TN

Funeral Services for ELDER HENRY LAWRENCE JACKSON will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: Jimmy Lee Smith, Roger Fuller, Garnell Gilbert, Noah Kim Edwards and Jim Duty officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Jason Clevinger, Nephews and Grandnephews.
