MARY KEEN OWENS,
83 years of age of the Devil’s Branch Section of Vansant, VA, passed away
Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center following an
extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late
Willie and Louisa Breeden Keen. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan
County and attended the Primitive Baptist Church on Bear Branch on Russell
Prater. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband,
Tolby Owens, 1988.
She is survived by 1-Daughter: Carolyn and husband
Jerry Fletcher, Homecreek Section of Grundy, VA , 2-Sons: Tolby Wayne and
wife Peggy Owens, Deskins Section of Vansant, VA, Michael and wife Kathy
Owens, Dry Fork Section of Vansant, VA, 2-Sisters: Marie and husband Stanley
Eck, Richmond, VA, Geneva
Presley, Flatwoods, KY, 3-Brothers: Kenneth
and wife Yuvonne Keen, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Kyle and wife Peggy Keen,
Woodbridge, VA, James “Trig” Keen, Fairborn, OH
Also, survived by 6-Grandchildren: Jeremy and wife
Ada Fletcher, Jason and wife Amanda Fletcher, Alexander Owens, Barbie and
husband William Ratliff, Amanda and husband Chris Adkins, and Elizabeth
Owens; and 6-Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1-Son: Kermit Owens;
4-Sisters: Ellia Sabol (Twin Sister), Ollie Perkins, Oakley Lockhart and
Sharlene Pressley; and 4-Brothers: Luther Keen, David Keen, Ira Keen and
Arvil Keen.
Funeral Services for
EDNA MARY KEEN OWENS will be
conducted Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral
Home Chapel with Evg. Mike Rife and Rev. Larry David Ratliff officiating
with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel
Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
