EDGAR
BREEDING,
89 years of age of Abingdon, VA, formerly of Looney’s Creek, Grundy, VA,
went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Johnston Memorial
Hospital, Abingdon, VA, following a brief illness. Born in Conaway, VA, he
was the son of the late Walter and Lydia O’Quinn Breeding. He was a resident
of Buchanan County many years and was a member of the Prater Creek Primitive
Baptist Church at Vansant for 69-years. Edgar was a retired Coal Miner and
member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a loving husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was former Owner of Breeding
Grocery at Looney’s Creek. He was the last surviving member of his immediate
family.
In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Owens
Breeding, July 24, 2006; 5-Sisters: Cora McClanahan, Ethel Honaker, Florence
Breeding, Edna Breeding and Edith Yates; 3-Brothers: Ira Breeding, Marion
Breeding and Paris Breeding.
He is survived by 1-Daughter: Sheilah O’Quinn (Companion Nelson), Abingdon,
VA, 3-Sons: Johnny (Katie) Deel, Lebanon, VA, Allen (Ann) Breeding,
Danville, VA, Aaron Breeding, Abingdon, VA
Also, survived by 5-Grandchildren: Stephanie (Lawrence) White Jr., Bristol,
TN, Stephen (Karen) Jackson, Kingsport, TN, Lorrie (Phillip) Ferguson,
Abingdon, VA, Tyler Breeding, Pulaski, VA, Alex Breeding, Roanoke, VA;
6-Great-Grandchildren: Israel McKenzie, Sierra White, Lawrence White III,
Brittany Czadzeck, Rachel Czadzeck and Isaac White; several Nieces and
Nephews; and Caregiver: Pam Sigmon.
Funeral Services for EDGAR BREEDING will be conducted Monday, April
1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Elders: Aaron
Williams and Jeffery Arnold officiating with burial to follow in Mountain
Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday evening at 6:00
P.M. with services by Elder Buford Stacy at 7:00 P.M. and on Sunday with
Elders: Ron Beavers and Keith Bowers at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be Tyler Breeding, Alex Breeding, Stephen Jackson,
Phillip Ferguson, Teddy Yates and Jeffery Yates.
