DONALD G. LOONEY, 70 years of age of Johnson City, TN, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Johnson City, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son fo the late Walter and Hattie Looney. He was a resident of Buchanan County most of his life prior to moving to Johnson City, TN, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Johnson City, TN. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired Coal Miner. Donald was an avid Outdoorsman and loved Gospel Music.

Mr. Looney is survived by his second wife, Kathy Ratliff Looney, Johnson City, TN, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Greenleaf Looney.

He is survived by 1-Daughter: Christelle Louise and husband Ronnie Bostic, Tazewell, VA, 2-Sons: Donny and wife Renae Looney, Hickory, NC, Shannon and wife Corrie Looney, Pounding Mill, VA, 1-Brother: Jerry and wife Virginia Dawn Looney, Vansant, VA

Also, survived by 12-Grandchildren and 5-Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1-Son: William Looney and 1-Brother: Leland Looney.

Funeral Services for DONALD G. LOONEY will be conducted Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Evgs. Jim Hill, Greg Dill, Dennis Wimmer, Mike Rife, Rafael Farrow and Walter Schwitzerlett officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Monday evening at 6:00 P.M. with a song service at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
