CURTIS RAGUS MULLINS, SR., affectionately known as “Big Dawg”, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 18, 2012. Born in Richlands, VA, September 16, 1952, he was the son of Agnes McClanahan Mullins, Grundy, VA, and the late T.C. Mullins, Jr., March 25, 2011. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ for over 50-years. He was a 1970 Graduate of Mountain Mission School, 1974 Graduate of Milligan College receiving his B.S. Degree in Accounting, and a 1980 Graduate of Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science. Big Dawg was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, Buchanan County Relay for Life, Southern Youth in Action, Juvenile Diabetes of Buchanan County, Grundy Kiwanis Club, Buchanan County Girl Scouts, just to name a few. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and was President of Grundy Funeral Home and Mullins Monuments.

 

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 33-years, Susan C. Mullins, Grundy, VA, his mother, Agnes C. Mullins, Grundy, VA, 2-Sons: Curtis Jr. and wife Ashley Mullins, Charlottesville, VA, Ryan C. Mullins, Grundy, VA, 1-Daughter: Shannon and husband Jay Coleman, Wise, VA, 3-Granddaughters: Autumn Olivia Mullins, Charlottesville, VA, Sadie Virginia Mullins, Charlottesville, VA, Isabelle Jane Mullins, Charlottesville, VA

 

Also, survived by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

 

Funeral Services for CURTIS RAGUS MULLINS, SR. will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Church of Christ with Evgs. Dennis Wimmer, Mike Rife, William L. Neeley, Bob Smith, Raffael Farrow, Dr. James M. Swiney and Pastor Carl Dorton officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

 

Friends may call at the Grundy Church of Christ Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. with Mason Rites and Services starting at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be his Scouts and former Boy Scouts.
