CLAYTON LOONEY, 64 years of age of Conaway, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of Florence America Hackney Looney, Bastian, VA, and the late Curtis Looney, October 10, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a coal mine shop mechanic for 48-years.

In addition to his father, Mr. Looney was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Looney, November 30, 2012.

He is survived by his wife of 45-years, Linda Vanover Looney, Conaway, VA, His Mother: Florence America Hackney Looney, Bastian, VA, 2-Daughters: Pam Looney (Fiance Jim Kennedy), Conaway, VA, Michelle (Sidney) Smith, Big Rock, VA, 2-Sons: Clayton (Elaine) Looney Jr., Slate Creek, Grundy, VA, Jimmy (Angie) Looney, Conaway, VA, 3-Sisters: Hazel Byers, Conaway, VA, Virginia (Gary) Fields, Conaway, VA, Judy Hackney, Kingsport, TN, 2-Brothers: Curtis (Sherry) Looney Jr., Poplar Creek, Grundy, VA, Roger Lee (Dreama) Looney, Rural Retreat, VA

Also, survived by 9-Grandchildren: Justin Looney, Katlin Rife, Jamie Looney, Samantha Looney, Nathaniel Looney, Jade Smith, Jasmine Smith, Jessica Looney and Nikki Byrd.

Funeral Services for CLAYTON LOONEY will be conducted Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Conn and Rev. Tommy Conn officiating with entombment to follow in Mountain Rest Mausoleum, Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Ricky Looney, James Looney, Steve Griffey, Chris Allen, Tim Ramey and Bobby Byers.
