BRETT KENDAL WARD, 42 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.  Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Waldo and Helen Smith Ward. He was a 1987 graduate of the Grundy Senior High School.  He was a loving father, brother and was an electrician. He was of the Baptist Faith. 

Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Charlisa Farmer Ward, Grundy, Virginia.

He is also survived by 1- Daughter: Tiffany Deel and husband Cody, Tazewell, VA, 2- Brothers: Brian Ward and wife Diedre, Vansant, VA, Jeff Ward, Grundy, VA, 2-Special Nieces: Felecia Sexton, Grundy, VA, and Nikki Farmer, Grundy, VA.

He is also survived by 2- nephews, 4- great-nephews and 1- niece.

Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his brother: Terry Dean Ward-November, 1985. 

Funeral Services for Brett Kendal Ward will be conducted Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shea Shrader officiating with burial to follow in the Ward Family Cemetery, Stone Coal Section of Slate Creek, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Brett’s nephews: Dean Ward, Tyler Ward, Richard Farmer, Winston Shirley, Terry Ward, Devan Shirley and Sean Ward.
