BRENDA
SUE COLEMAN SCARBERRY,
54 years of age of Big Rock, VA, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her
home following an extended illness. Born in Tazewell County, she was the
daughter of the late Nicey Yates Rife. She was a resident of Buchanan County
most of her life and was a member of Harman Freewill Baptist Church. She was
a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and was a wonderful homemaker.
Brenda enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking and canning.
Mrs. Scarberry
was preceded in death by her mother, Nicey Yates Rife; and her step-father,
Frank Rife.
She is survived by her husband of 37-years, Dennis
Scarberry, Big Rock, VA, 1-Daughter: Margo Danielle Scarberry, Big Rock, VA,
1-Son: Andy and wife Tangie Scarberry, Big Rock, VA, 6-Sisters: Betty Davis,
Mavisdale, VA, Gleam Hall, Big Rock, VA, Julie Dotson, Benton, KY, Jackie
Sykes, Bee, VA, Gay Rife, Maxie, VA, Louisa West, Pikeville, KY, 1-Brother:
Denny Joe Coleman, Haysi, VA
Also, survived by
4-Grandchildren: Tyler Scarberry, Hunter Scarberry, Andrew “Catfish”
Scarberry and Hailey Osborne.
She was preceded
in death by 1-Daughter: Judy Ellen Scarberry and 1-Sister: Imal Jean Nipper.
Funeral Services for
BRENDA SUE COLEMAN SCARBERRY
will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harman
Freewill Baptist Church with Ronnie Sliger, Eddie Wilson and Shawn Rife
officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big
Rock, VA.
Friends may call
at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 5:00 P.M. with
services Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
Active
Pallbearers will be Truitt Blankenship, Jake Blankenship, J.R. Craft, Tyler
Scarberry, Hunter Scarberry, Johnny Ray Hall, Nathan Osborne and Nick Sykes.
