BOYD CHURCH, 77 years of age of Sevierville, TN, formerly of Richlands, VA, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital, Knoxville, TN, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Amos and Iola Ward Church. He was a resident of Buchanan County many years and was a member of the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Church served in the United States Army and lived many years in Richlands, VA, prior to moving to Sevierville, TN. He was a loving husband of 56-years and was a retired coal miner, having worked for Island Creek Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Frenchman Church.

Mr. Church is survived by his wife of 56-years, Mary Turley Church, Sevierville, TN, 3-Sisters: Rosella and husband James Ratliff, Grundy, VA, Delphine and husband Ferlie Yates, Ohio, Brenda and husband Ervin Penley, South Carolina, 3-Brothers: Floyd and wife Imajean Church, Vansant, VA, James and wife Annie Church, Hillsville, VA, Tracy and wife Madge Church, Grundy, VA, 2-Brothers-in-Law: Glad Turley, Vansant, VA, Dave Turley, Roseann, VA

Also, survived by several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral Services for BOYD CHURCH will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.C. Honaker and Rev. Jimmy Kerr officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Nephews and Friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
