BLAINE
LESTER,
86 years of age of Mouthcard, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the
Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY, following a brief illness. Born in
Pike County, KY, he was the son of the late Emory and Causby Blankenship
Lester. He was a resident of Pike County most of his life and was a member
of the Mouthcard Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and enjoyed working
on cars. Blaine was a retired Coal Miner and member of the United Mine
Workers of America.
In addition to
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, May Charles Lester
(1994), 2-Daughters: Peggy Crouse and Erma Dotson.
He is survived by
his companion, Paula Smith, Mouthcard, KY, 2-Daughters: Phyllis (James)
Dotson, Mouthcard, KY, Brenda Ratliff, Allen, KY, 1-Son: Jeremy Elkins,
Berea, KY, 1-Brother: Thurman (Ruby) Lester, Hurley, VA
Also, survived by
6-Grandchildren, numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for
BLAINE LESTER will be conducted
Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Ben Martin and Rev. Dale Tomlinson officiating with burial to follow in
Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call
at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services
Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
Active
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Ratliff, Jeremy Elkins, Chet Damron, Tommy
Lester and Bill Blankenship.
Honorary
Pallbearers will be Brian Fleming and the Men of Mouthcard Baptist Church.
