BERNARD ALLEN (BERNIE) FLEMING, 62 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Conaway, VA, he was the son of the late Ernest Burns Fleming and Neva Jeanette Lockhart Fleming. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a Sergeant in the United States Army (1968-1971). He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a disabled Coal Miner having worked 30-years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Danielle Rae Fleming, March 30, 2013; 1-Sister: Joan Tester; 2-Brothers: Galen and Timmy Fleming.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene Coleman Fleming, Grundy, VA, 1-Son: Bernard Allen (Petra) Fleming, Germany, 1-Step-Daughter: Debbie Keen, Kingsport, TN, 5-Sisters: Debbie (Junior) Epling, Kentucky, Lori (George) Roberts, Virginia, Sandy (Dick) Lester, Indiana, Shirley (Lindy) Cox, Farmville, VA, Janice Fleming, Kentucky, 6-Brothers: Joey (Annetta) Fleming, Kentucky, Gerald (Anita) Fleming, Virginia, Michael Fleming, Kentucky, Brian Fleming, Kentucky, Ernest Fleming, Kentucky, Benny Fleming (Special Friend Rusty), North Carolina

Also, survived by 3-Grandchildren: Natascha, Nicole and Scott Fleming; 1-Step-Granddaughter: Caroline Marie Keen; 1-Step-Great-Grandson: Aiden Ryder Hughes, several Nieces and Nephews.

Full Military Graveside Rites for BERNARD ALLEN (BERNIE) FLEMING will be conducted Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stiltner Cemetery, Grundy, VA, with Rev. Tony Lowe and Members of Childs Gentry Post No. 7360 of the VFW officiating with burial to follow.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be friends and neighbors.
