BENNIE BURTON (JACK) PAYNE, 80 years of age of the Lester’s Fork Section of Grundy, VA, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at Pikeville Medical Center . Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Daniel C. & Maggie Justus Payne. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a retired mechanic for Knox Creek Coal Company strip mines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother: Dora Mae Justus Payne; by two brothers: Dan Payne Jr. and Robert Harold Payne; by one half-brother: Felix Payne; by three sisters: Fern Whited, Laurine Justus & Ruby Cooper; and by one half- sister: Delphia Hipps

He is survived by 2-Sons: Kenneth (Teresa) Payne, Fredericksburg, VA, Daniel Thomas (Kelly) Payne, Kingsport, TN, 5-Grandchildren: Kristy (Corey) Cooper, Hurley, VA, Dakota Payne, Fredericksburg, VA, Montana Payne, Fredericksburg, VA, David (Tara) Johnson, Fredericksburg, VA, Deanna Norton, Fredericksburg, VA, 13- Great-grandchildren, 4-Half-Sisters: Dennie, Mary, Sandy & Shirley, 3-Half-brothers: Teddy, William & Eddie Dean Payne

Funeral Services for BENNIE BURTON (JACK) PAYNE will be conducted Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Dotson officiating with burial to follow in the Justus Cemetery on Lester’s Fork.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
