 ANDERSON
“ANCE” WOLFORD,
88 years of age of Roseann, VA, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the
Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, VA, following an extended illness. Born
in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Dan and Sally Ward Wolford.
He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Roseann
Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired coal miner. He was a member
of the United Mine Workers of America and was the last surviving member of
his immediate family.
In addition to
his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Birchie Justus Wolford;
2-Sisters: Ella Justus and Ida Prater; 9-Brothers: Ed Wolford, Gene Wolford,
Emory Wolford, Anthony Wolford, Elza Wolford, Burlin Wolford, Lonnie
Wolford, Tommy Wolford and Earnest Wolford.
He is survived by
5-Children: Michael (Rita) Wolford, Hurley, VA, Steve (Pam) Wolford,
Pounding Mill, VA, Terry (Susie) Wolford, Hurley, VA, Cathy (Charles)
Blevins, Galax, VA, Kim Mullins, Floyd, VA, 1-Sister-in-Law: Ilet Wolford,
Paw Paw, VA
Also, survived by
5-Grandchildren: Stephanie Reedy, Cammie Justus, Chris Wolford, Joshua
Mullins and Cassidy Blevins; and 4-Great-Grandchildren: Nikkie Reedy,
Stephen Reedy, Christina Wolford and Katelyn Wolford.
Funeral Services for
ANDERSON “ANCE” WOLFORD will be
conducted Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Roseann Evangelical
Presbyterian Church with Revs. Curtis Stacy and Shea Shrader officiating
with burial to follow in the Justus Cemetery on Peeled Poplar near Hurley,
VA.
Friends may call
at the Roseann Evangelical Presbyterian Church Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M.
with services Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M.
