As you may have noticed by now, we here at Shore Branding like to celebrate the holidays. For June’s Pin of the Month, we’re going to celebrate another one, National Doughnut Day. This year, National Doughnut Day fell on Friday, June 7th. The holiday is celebrated on the first Friday in June each year.
Unmetric put together our Pin of the Month comparing the social media efforts of Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme. Using their proprietary metrics, they compare how each company performs on social media. You can see that Dunkin Donuts holds a pretty significant advantage in the number of ‘Fans’ they boast vs. Krispy Kreme. However, Unmetric’s Engagement Score sways in Krispy Kreme’s flavor … umm, favor. (Sorry, we’re getting hungry just typing this up.)
The two companies have a different content marketing strategy, but both celebrate National Doughnut Day by offering free doughnuts to customers.
At the bottom of the infographic you see Twitter stats for both companies. This illustrates a similar story to what we see in Unmetric’s proprietary measures – Dunkin Donuts has the depth and breadth in sheer numbers, but Krispy Kreme is driving stronger engagement – in this case, by the number of replies the company is receiving from fans.
